Experts Say Salary Transparency Can Also Benefit Employers

In a recent article, HR Brew explored the topic of pay transparency and how it is not only a positive for employees, but also for employers as well.  

Jamie Coakley, SVP of People at the IT support firm Electric, said wage disclosure ultimately increases trust between the company and a potential candidate in preventing job seekers from being surprised or unsatisfied by an offer.

Tailored recruitment approaches are another plus to salary transparency, which saves the company time when searching for prospective employees.

In addition to the states where salary range postings are already mandated, Krissy Katzenstein, a partner specializing in employment and compensation at Baker McKenzie, predicted this form of transparency will become the norm even in the absence of federal legislation.
